DYCP
Zephie is the recipient of an Arts Council DYCP grant for her project 'Reimagining the body in the landscape, folklore and traditional ceramics practices'.

In 2024, Zephie was awarded an Arts Council Developing Your Creative Practice Grant. During this time, she has explored clay, its properties and creative uses that have minimal environmental impact, while researching its application through an appreciation of folklore, myth and notions of the hybrid and posthumanism.
Given clay's playful, therapeutic and universal nature, Zephie has developed a model of working with groups, including refugee and asylum seeker communities, in order to support their wellbeing through creativity.
She has learned a huge range of processes, from sourcing and processing wild clays and pigments to creating ceramic glazes from found clays, oxides and plants, including courses at Clay College in Stoke and Rebearth in Fife.
She took part in Berlin Art Institute masterclass 'Becoming Plant', in which she delved into art history, feminist speculative fiction, film, critical theory and experimental creative writing looking at themes relating to the hybrid, goddess culture and posthumanism.
During her research she has worked with artists including Jasmine Reimer, Melina Xenaki, Becky Little, Natalia Kasprzycka, Rebecca Appleby and Anna FC Smith.
